To ensure that the Salestrail app works effectively in the background, it’s crucial to adjust specific battery settings on your Android device. These settings prevent the system from automatically closing or restricting the app, which can interrupt its functionality. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the necessary battery settings to keep Salestrail running smoothly in the background.

1. Disable Battery Optimization

Android’s battery optimization feature can restrict background activity for apps, potentially causing them to stop working. To disable battery optimization for the Salestrail app:

  1. Open Settings: Go to your device’s Settings.

  2. Battery: Tap on the Battery section.

  3. Battery Optimization:

    • Depending on the device, you may need to tap on "Battery usage" and then "Battery optimization" or "Optimize battery usage."

  4. All Apps: Tap the dropdown menu and select "All apps" to see a list of all installed applications.

  5. Select Salestrail: Find and select the Salestrail app from the list.

  6. Don't Optimize: Choose "Don't optimize" or a similar option to exclude Salestrail from battery optimization.

Below are some examples of the battery setting different devices:

Samsung Devices:

Google Pixel Devices

Once you have enabled Background usage, click on the words "Allow Background Usage" to select unrestricted battery for Salestrail.

Redmi Devices

Also, disable Power Saving Mode:

  • Settings > Battery > Turn off "Power Saving Mode".

Lava Devices (Stock Android / Lava UI)

  1. Go to Settings > Battery.

  2. Tap Battery Optimization.

  3. Find Salestrail and select "Don’t optimize".

  4. Additionally, disable Battery Saver if enabled:

    • Settings > Battery Saver > Turn it off.

Motorola Devices (My UX)

  1. Go to Settings > Battery.

  2. Select Adaptive Battery and turn it off.

  3. Go to Apps > Salestrail > Battery Usage.

  4. Select "Allow background activity" or "Unrestricted".

  5. Also, remove Salestrail from Battery Saver mode:

    • Settings > Battery Saver > Salestrail > Don't optimize.

2. Enable Auto-Start (if available)

Some Android versions and custom interfaces (like MIUI, EMUI) offer an auto-start feature:

  1. Open Settings: Go to the device’s Settings.

  2. Apps: Tap on "Apps" or "Permissions."

  3. Auto-Start: Select "Background Auto-start" or "Startup manager" or "Manage apps"- depending on device.

  4. Enable for Salestrail: Find Salestrail in the list and enable auto-start.

Enable background autostart for Salestrail and Salestrail Recorder(if you are using this for recording)

3. Whitelist the App

On certain Android devices, particularly those with aggressive battery-saving modes (like Huawei’s EMUI or Xiaomi’s MIUI), whitelisting Salestrail can prevent it from being closed in the background:

  1. Open Settings: Access the Settings menu.

  2. Battery: Go to the Battery settings.

  3. App Launch (Huawei) / Manage Apps (Xiaomi):

    • For Huawei: Tap on "App launch" and find Salestrail. Disable automatic management and manually enable "Auto-launch," "Secondary launch," and "Run in background."

    • For Xiaomi: Tap on "Manage apps" and select Salestrail. Ensure "No restrictions" is set under "Battery saver."

Ensuring that the Salestrail app runs effectively in the background involves adjusting several settings across different sections of your Android device. Disabling battery optimization, allowing background activity, removing data usage restrictions, enabling auto-start, and whitelisting the app are critical steps. Each Android device might have slightly different settings and menus, so you may need to explore your specific device’s options.
